MATH
ALGEBRA 1 (36 weeks / 1 credit / prerequisite: Pre-Algebra
Students move from solving and simplifying expressions, through linear equations and graphing, into polynomials, quadratic equations and rational equations and functions.
GEOMETRY (36 weeks / 1 credit / prerequisite: Algebra I)
Students will develop reasoning and problem solving skills by studying congruency, similarity, applying properties of lines, triangles, quadrilaterals, and circles. They will also use area, perimeter, circumference and volume to solve real-world problems.
ALGEBRA 2 (36 weeks / 1 credit / prerequisite: Algebra I & Geometry)
This subject continues after Algebra I to explore higher algebraic concepts organized around functions, including linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, radical, and rational functions. Lessons also include probability and data analysis as well as numerous examples and exercises involving Geometry and Trigonometry.
PRE-CALCULUS (36 weeks / 1 credit / prerequisite: Algebra II)
This course is designed to teach concepts and skills necessary for students to succeed in Calculus and disciplines that are mathematically based, such as college Chemistry and Physics. This course is designed to emphasize the problem solving and development of quantitative thought patterns.
STATISTICS (36 weeks / 1 credit / prerequisite: Algebra II)
This curriculum emphasizes concepts of statistics. Statistical methods are carefully presented with a focus on understanding both the suitability of the method and the meaning of the result. Statistical methods and measurements are developed in the context of applications.
SCIENCE
BIOLOGY (36 weeks / 1 credit
This course introduces students to the vast diversity of organisms and characteristics that define life. Units include biodiversity, cells, interdependence, genetics, and evolution.
PHYSICAL SCIENCE (36 weeks / 1 credit / prerequisite: Algebra I)
This survey course of the concepts taught in chemistry and physics requires basic math skills and prepares the student for continued study in science.
HUMAN ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY (36 weeks / 1 credit)
This course will prepare students for biomedical, nursing, and other health related careers. This course is organized to follow a logical sequence of the 10 systems of the human body with emphasis on diseases and disorders.
CHEMISTRY (36 weeks / 1 credit / prerequisite: Algebra I)
General Chemistry covers the study of matter from an atomic and molecular perspective. This course is designed to prepare students for college science, biology and medicine.
SOCIAL SCIENCE / HISTORY
WORLD HISTORY (36 weeks / 1 credit)
This course offers an in depth look at the people, places and events that shaped our society. Students will explore the Ancient World, the Eastern World, the Medieval World, the Awakening World, the Enlightened World, the European World, and the Modern World.
US HISTORY - PART I (36 weeks / 1 credit)
This is an evaluation of the history of the United States by breaking down several eras and the outline of the major periods in our nation's development. Taking a glimpse at how our past experiences shape the current situation, students will learn consequences and rewards of major events and decisions.
US HISTORY - PART 2 (36 weeks / 1 credit)
This is a continuing evaluation of the history of the United States by breaking down several eras the outline of the major periods in our nation's development. The course studies limited government, the political power of the common man, America's unique culture, and religious liberty.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMICS (36 weeks / 1 credit)
This course of study features a look at our government by studying its Foundations, the Constitution, Party Politics, and the three major parts of our government. Students will also be able to define Economics, how it affects our nation, the business firm, the financial market, and our government.
